About

About me
A former startup veteran turned journalist, I found purpose in storytelling—and now I fuse digital strategy with editorial grit to create content that informs, engages, and inspires.
Award-winning journalist and content strategist
Some might call me a late bloomer—I prefer “seasoned.”
After eight years in the tech startup world, I pivoted to something with less pay but more purpose: journalism. It was a leap into a field where impact matters more than income, and I’ve never looked back.
I began my journalism journey at Stony Brook University, where I studied storytelling across formats—writing, photography, video, and digital media. Alongside journalism, I explored everything from chemistry to 18th-century feminism. But the most valuable lesson came outside the classroom: how to write clearly and with purpose.
Breaking into the field wasn’t easy. Dozens of job applications led to one offer—from The Southampton Press. Editor Joe Shaw hired me on one condition: I’d spend my first year learning to write. Challenge accepted.
A year later, I was a senior reporter covering public safety, government, and environmental issues. I stayed nearly five years, until pandemic-era furloughs forced a pause.
During that pause, I pursued a master’s degree in Interactive Media and Communications at Quinnipiac University. I deepened my skills in animation, social media strategy, content development, and design—tools essential for a digital-first world.
Toward the end of grad school, I joined Ocean City Today, a local paper in Maryland. There, I helped modernize the publication’s digital strategy under the guidance of editor Stuart Dobson, expanding its reach and relevance.
Earlier in life, I often felt directionless. Journalism gave me purpose—and a path. Now, I’m focused on the next chapter: becoming a digital content strategist who blends startup agility with journalistic storytelling. My goal? To create content strategies that inform, engage, and inspire across platforms.
The journey’s still unfolding—and that’s the best part.
